In the chapter, "A Regular Revolution", the girls are sent back to the Dominican Republic to reconnect with their culture, since they were growing accustom to the American ways.
Sophia seems to be doing the worst; first having a bag of marijuana, then after going back to the DR, changing her appearance & sleeping with her uncle's illegitamate son--WITHOUT protection.
Do you think that the girls did WORSE when they were in the Dominican Republic? What makes you think this way? Post your responses here (:

I think the girls started behaving worse when they were sent to Dominican Republic. I think they were starting to be accustomed to their bad habits because they felt that they could do whatever they wanted since they didn't have their parents there with them to watch their every move. Also, since the girls were getting older, they probably wanted to try to experience new things, especially Sophie with her bag of drugs.

I agree with Monica that maybe without being watched upon made them act this way. Or I think that during this whole proccess of the girls moving back to Dominican Republic, maybe something mentally happened in their brains that results in doing all this terrible actions. (:

I think they behaved bad on the Island AND in the U.S. On the Island, Sofia sleeps with Manuel without protection. In the U.S. they learn about drugs. So I think they did bad things in both countries.
