Why don't you put the book down.

On the third Chapter, I found it entertaining reading it. The four girls parents were highly concerned for Sandra who has been loosing A LOT of weight. Their parents confronted the doctor about her situation; that she was reading nonstop and won't eat.

I don't know about you guys but this chapter made me think of people in America. They probably aren't in the same situation as the family in the book however, there is a lot of parents who are super duper concerned for their child's massive weight gain or weight loss. It kind of reminds me of an episode on the Tyra Banks show where there are kids who have eating disorders.

  1. In every talk show, there is at least one parent talking about their child's weight issue-whether its obesity or anorexia/bulimia. There was an episode I remember on Dr. Phil (my mom was watching it) and he was talking about this 22 year old woman who weighed about 90 pounds! She was still healing from anorexia, which almost took her life away. But she is still struggling to gain more weight and is still afraid to be past 100 pounds. These issues are some very serious issue going on today in America. It is very sad. :[

  2. Wow really? That is so unhealthy for a human being to weigh THAT much as an adult. I don't understand what triggers people to loose soooo much weight or gain so much weight.

  3. I know, I think I've seen that episode, actually.
[Sorry to get off topic but years ago, my mom had never weight "3 numbers", but it wasn't an eating disorder, it was normal. O_____o]
